Dr. Seuss costumes are some of the best loved costumes by kids today, and yesterday! We all remember growing up with Dr. Seuss and the Who and the Grinch and all of the gang. We loved Dr. Seuss and couldn’t wait to crawl into bed to have a great story read to us by Dr. Seuss. And those pictures! Who didn’t love all the pictures?

Dr. Seuss Cat In The Hat – Thing 2 Mascot Adult Costume

There are now Dr. Seuss movies made around these books. Also costumes, accessories, t-shirts, other clothing, tv specials and Broadway plays. Dr. Seuss published over 60 childrens’ books.

Dr. Seuss was born in 1904, and lived until 1991. And he was prolific! Seuss’s childrens’ books were all written in a poetic manner, a very recognizable four-stroke beat of poetry which seemed to draw the reader in, were simple, but required paying attention to what was being read.

But they were easy to remember and easy to repeat, so kids all over loved to say things like “one fish two fish red fish blue fish”. It was fun. And Dr. Seuss loved to illustrate his books with characters that had faces that were wide and droopy.

They were often made in the pencil drawing style, and colored with watercolors. Early on, Seuss used only black, white and one or two colors, keeping them very simple.
